Say Goodbye to Jet-Lag Face!
When it comes to your skin on a plane, lets just say that flying is for the birds – the feathered type :). Setting aside the fact that you’re probably wedged into a seat the size of an iPad. MOst likely sleeping sitting up almost impossible, unless you are one of the lucky ones in first class, your skin on a long haul flight is going to be under serious trauma!
The main reason for this is the humidity levels. You see humidity is the level of moisture in the air and this has a significant impact on the skin, especially if you suffer from moisture related skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis. Normal outside humidity levels can range from 45%(UK) to 95% (Florida, USA) but when you step onto the plane, the air is recycled filtered air and the level then drops to less than 20%! The level of moisture in the air can have a significant impact on the skin, even if you do not suffer from moisture related skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis.
You skin contains its own moisture and on a plane this essential moisture evaporates quickly making skin dehydrated and this is your first clue on how to ‘say goodbye to jet lag face!’
Moisturise, moisturise and moisturise!
When I get on the plane the first thing I do is cleanse skin with some cotton pads soaked in JL face & eye make up remover (this comes in a travel size). Then I apply JL eye lift cream to eyes, super moisturiser on the lips and the big secret to having ‘movie star’ glow is applying a thick layer of JL rejuvenating mask. Now relax, watch a movie and enjoy your ‘up in the air’ JL skin savers and let them do their work! Don’t forget to drink lots of water – best to buy a couple of litres before boarding.
Finally, 30 minutes before landing I like to change my top, put on my holiday sandals and apply mascara, lip gloss and some bronzer. Hey, now we are ready for the fun in the sun 🙂
